3) Check to see if the color keyed side of the ribbon cable connector is connected to the pin one position of the CD-ROM drive and the IDE controller.
NOTE: If another drive device is connected IDE controller with the CD-ROM, make sure that the color keyed side of the ribbon cable connector is connected to the pin one position on the other device.
4) If the color keyed side of the ribbon cable is not connected to pin one, unplug the cable and reconnect the cable so that the color keyed side matches pin one.
